How to Cover the Trump Administration for B2B Media
Elections have consequences across every industry and business sector. With a change in presidential administration, a switch in party control of the Senate, and a narrower Republican majority in the House, the consequences of the latest election are especially significant for journalists. Join our webinar to gain insights on how to cover the new Trump administration's policies as well as the changing political dynamics in D.C. Learn from seasoned journalists about strategies for reporting on the impact of policy changes across various sectors. Panelists for this discussion include: - Alison Bethel is a journalist with more than 35 years of experience as an award-winning reporter, bureau chief, senior editor and media trainer specializing in politics and business. She has worked in senior-level positions at The Boston Globe, The Detroit News, Legal Times and the Nassau Guardian in The Bahamas. Bethel is the chief content officer and editor-in-chief of State Affairs, a nonpartisan source of truth for all activity of the state government serving insiders, the government itself, and all citizens within the state.
- Angela Greiling Keane is the news director of Bloomberg Government, where she leads a team of reporters and analysts that covers congressional policy and politics, state capitols and the White House. She joined Bloomberg Government in 2022 after leading and growing state, Canada and policy coverage at POLITICO. Angela is the Journalism and Women Symposium president where she works to advance women in the news industry. She was POLITICO’s managing editor for states, running policy and politics coverage for regional-based teams and federal policy verticals and previously was a technology editor. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly a decade as a reporter at Bloomberg News, including as a White House correspondent. Prior to that, she was an associate editor at Traffic World magazine and a Washington correspondent for the Small Newspaper Group.
- David Lim is a health care reporter at POLITICO focused on covering the policy, regulation and politics that affect the medical device industry and the Food and Drug Administration. Before joining POLITICO, David helped launch Industry Dive’s MedTech Dive and worked at Inside Washington Publishers’ FDA Week.
This webinar will be moderated by ASBPE board member Paul Albergo. Albergo is an adjunct associate professor with American University's School of Communication, an adjunct lecturer and career adviser in the journalism program at Georgetown University, and a site director for the Dow Jones News Fund. In 2022, he retired from serving as executive editor for Bloomberg Industry Group. Albergo started with the company, then known as BNA, in 1986 as a reporter and over his 36 years managed several key company teams and publications.
